The Ministry

The remit of the Ministry for Digitalisation is defined by the government's internal regulations (in French).

The Ministry fot Digitalisation is, on the one hand, a facilitator and coordinator for ministries and other state bodies wishing to make their digital transition a success. On the other hand, it is the initiator of government-wide developments aimed at making the daily lives of citizens and businesses easier.

Within the framework of the political priorities and the implementation of the government programme, the coordination of the strategies of the Ministry for Digitalisation is essential in the development, updating and implementation of strategies related to the digitalisation and digital transformation of Luxembourg.

As a central player in the ongoing development of digitalisation in the public sector and the strategic axes identified, it goes without saying that a diligent internal approach and consultation with other ministries is necessary to successfully implement digital government and digital transformation based on innovative projects, the exploitation of data and the responsible and advantageous application of emerging technologies in Luxembourg.

To this end, and to integrate the participation of civil society, the High Committee for Digital Transformation is a platform for exchange and support to encourage a participatory approach during the development of strategies related to the country's digital transformation.

In addition, the coordination of strategies aims to identify international collaborations conducive to synergies and the exchange of best practices, projects or innovative initiatives that support the development of digitalisation in Luxembourg and the achievement of the priorities and objectives stipulated in the strategies in force.

In order to carry out its various missions successfully, the Ministry has defined strategic areas in which its actions fall. The Ministry intends to:

• continually develop digital public services,
• encourage innovation within the State and data science,
• promote digital inclusion for all citizens.
