The "Zesumme Vereinfachen" platform: for public services that make your daily life easier

Introduction

The digitalisation of government services provides added value for users when it goes hand in hand with administrative simplification and the adaptation of procedures, processes and exchanges between citizens, businesses and the State.

The Ministry for Digitalisation has within its competence to find digital solutions that promote administrative simplification. This approach is supported by the Council for Simplification, whose tasks include managing the platform dedicated to participatory administrative simplification www.zesumme-vereinfachen.lu. The platform's motto reflects its concept: "For public services that make your daily life easier".

A participatory and collaborative approach

The Council for Simplification relies on the experience of citizens and businesses to simplify procedures in a participatory and co-creative manner. The "Zesumme Vereinfachen" platform places the personal experience of citizens and businesses at the centre of the entire development and simplification process.

On this platform, interested citizens and businesses can take the initiative to submit ideas for simplifying government procedures, such as those presented on Guichet.lu. They can also comment on or add to other users' proposals, participate in surveys, vote on proposals, prioritise initiatives, register for digital or face-to-face participatory workshops, and more.

In addition, "Zesumme Vereinfachen" gives ministries and administrations the opportunity to submit projects for which they would like to obtain the opinions or comments of the relevant stakeholders. All ongoing projects that are open for contributions are visible on the platform's home page, as are those for which the circle is complete.

"Zesumme Vereinfachen" offers all functionalities for digital participation on all devices, including smartphones. People wishing to participate can do so in one of the four languages of the platform, namely French, German, English and also Luxembourgish.

Get involved when you want and how you want!

In all cases, citizens and businesses have the choice to get involved in one or more phases of the project, at their own convenience. At no time are they committed to following a project from start to finish. A system of customisable notifications also keeps them informed of the progress of projects proposed on the platform. By subscribing to these notifications, interested persons will be made aware of new projects going online and may keep up with the progress of ongoing projects.

A governmental "Simplify Community"

Ministries and administrations interested in the opportunities offered by the platform can contact the Council for Simplification at any time to learn more about the platform and all the other tools that the Council offers in the context of the simplification of procedures. Civil servants are therefore invited to join the Ministry's "Simplify Community" to discuss the topic of administrative simplification.
